A true Southern African son of the soil, born in Zimbabwe with ancestral roots in Malawi and resident in South Africa, Blade Deep is a highly versatile DJ who commenced his career at the tender age of 14 spinning hip hop and R&B at the token neighborhood house party or family function using nothing but 2 cassette players switching from side to side trying to beat match. To date he has over 16 years of experience in the field. When nostalgia kicks in he is reminiscent of his 1st pair of decks, a set of twin Gemini’s- the mean machine! The envy of the “hood’ as he strutted accompanied by a small teenage entourage with his ‘Castle Beer crates full of 12 inch vinyl.

It was in 2006 that Blade Deep would transition from mainstream Hip Hop and R&B to House and from here his journey into many facets of Deep, Soulful, Acid and Afro House would flourish.

His versatility and exquisitely unique ability to take listeners on a ‘musical journey’ has afforded him the opportunity to showcase his professional DJ skills at a number of exclusive events worldwide; Dubai, Uk, USA, South Africa and the Caribbean to name a few. He has performed alongside big names such as DJ Pierre of Afro Acid, and Steve’ Silk’ Hurley of S&S recordings.

Residing between Southern Africa and the UK and becoming a patriot to the Caribbean through personal and business connections, Blade observed that his preferred genres were minimally exposed. Listeners were more a tune to the sounds of electronic dance (EDM) and pop music and had yet to discover the tantalizing flavor of true Underground House. Learning that Caribbean music was a derivative of traditional African sounds Blade saw a unique opportunity to expose local listeners to the diverse rhythms and beats of Africa fused with an electrifying tech sound. Through a series of local and regional events Blade has single handedly managed to develop a growing niche of listeners with an appetite for true House Music.

Fast becoming a prolific music producer Blade Deep decided to launch his record label JusVibe in 2012 with an intention to promote Underground music with particular emphasis on the Caribbean. With the contribution of some few highly talented DJ/Producers from around the globe Blade Deep and his team continue to strive towards bridging he has smartly branded as ‘ The AfroCarib Movement.’

Hard work and dedication has resulted in a number JusVibe releases holding top 10 positions on the Deep and Afro House charts.
